KORY Y. McBRIDE

Meet The Opportunities Optometrist; Kory Y. McBride of KMcBride Consulting LLC.  He has worked in the college access and postsecondary field for nearly 20 years. 

Kory is responsible for helping schools create and sustain systems and processes to improve postsecondary readiness, college enrollment and persistence.  His extensive experience is providing educational knowledge and support to students and organizations for the purpose of preparing postsecondary opportunities.  These provisions include executive coaching, professional development, postsecondary advising, supporting special populations, and helping students at risk. 

Over the course of his career he has worked with and for the Department of Education, Community Based Organizations, and as an Educational Consultant.  He currently serves as a Board Member and Delegate for New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC).  Kory has served as a Board Member (Emeritus) for the College Access Consortium of New York, Inc. (CACNY).  He also serves on a number of advisory committees and boards

Kory was named the State University of New York (SUNY) NYC College Counselor of the Year.  Received the Distinguished Service Award: Community Based Organization from the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling. Kory was also featured in the documentary The Test & the Art of Thinking. 

Kory is fueled by his passion for impacting lives. In his spare time he enjoys spending quality time with his wife who is his childhood sweetheart and their two children.  He truly believes that he has been Blessed to Be a Blessing
